Retire Village – When To Whitelist?

Email communication has become increasingly complicated as we rely more and more on it in our business as well as our everyday lives. If you are relying on any of the major email providers for service, your email filtering is active and changes frequently. Have you noticed that critical emails are sometimes lurking in your spam filter or never even make it to the filter?

If so, it’s time to whitelist.

Retire Village monitors delivery of each AutoDrip and places administrative holds on blocked email addresses. Individual addresses may be blocked if they have rmosre restrictive filter settings or large quantities of unread emails that were sent from our domain. If we notice domain specific blocks, we may change our programming to release a larger blocking issue that may arise from time to time, but in general the blocks are to a specific address and we only encounter a 2% to 5% block rate at any given time. If your own email address is showing as an Administrative Hold in Your Retire Village Contacts List, you can whitelist your address and contact us to reinstate the address. This may result in improved deliverability as our agents will encounter more emails from our system than their contacts, so any delivery issues our agents encounter affect our reputation and overall deliverability more than any single contact.

Whitelisting is not the only name used for adding emails into a “spam filter bypass” – some email providers like EarthLink will not filter any emails in your “contacts list” and certain settings in your system may engage or disengage this feature, or add other steps like requiring new senders to fill out an online form before you receive email from them. The following step by step guides cover most of the major email service providers.
